For people who have cd arma2 and Steam arma2OA

Here's how to make arma2 appear in OA extensions when using the Downloaded version of OA with the cd version of arma 2 !!

OK have spent hours reading and trying to do this as directed by various forum post. I must admit that i am not very computer smart and have been lost following the people trying to help. However I have got it working and thought that I would help out the rest in the same boat as me.
Follow these simple steps and it should work, If your dvd version of ARMA 2 and Steam version of OA are installed into their default directories.
1: Download the file runA2CO.zip in Dwardens sticky ARMA 2: CO (how combine ARMA 2 into ARMA 2:OA and use together) in the BI arma-oa general forum.

2: Unzip it and place the unzipped file into your Steam OA directory (the steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead) one
3: Edit it by right clicking on _runA2CO and selecting edit.
4: Delete the line under run ie "%ARMA2OAPATH%\ARMA2OA.exe" "-mod=%ARMA2PATH%;%ARMA2OAPATH%\EXPANSION"
5: Copy the following "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2;C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\EXPANSION" and paste it under run where the other one was.
6: Save the changes
7: Run the file ie _runA2CO (create a shortcut to it on desktop for your ease).

Here's a post i found on bis forum !

so i figured everything out it's all pretty simple now, a little bit of a easier way to do everything.

Disc Arma 2, Steam Arrowhead.

with the "_runA2CO" .batch file prompt create a shortcut and place it where you wish to activate it, me i chose desktop. inside of there you rightclick and add your mods and such but make sure you add Quotation marks inside of it, here's a example

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\_runA2CO.cmd" "-nosplash" "-cpucount=4" "-exThreads=7" "-mod=@3rdp"

this is my exact copy and paste, it must have the " at start and end, because the cmd promt does not recognize the = by it's self.

you can impliment more mods as such "-mod=@3rdp;@TGmaps;@xxx;@;xxx" and such, as long as you once again keep it between the " " marks.

this theorteically should work for d2d guys also, so now everyone has combined arms and mods both working.

ALSO!

You will not see mods under expansion, but they will be there running.

Who woulda thought that Striker could be useful?!

I have placed 3 files in the TS3 "ARMA II OA" channel. For STEAM OA people who have ARMAII on a disk, those files can be placed in your OA directory - should be similar to the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead"
You can then make shortcuts on your desktop to those 3 files (don't try to add mods to the shortcuts you make). Example target line in shortcut: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\_runA2COace.cmd"
The 3 will give you:

_runA2COace.cmd = OA +ARMA2 +ACE +CBA +Islands (@FDF_Podagorsk;@FRAN_quesh_kibrul;@isla_duala;@panthera;@sap_everon) +planes(Camel & F-16)
_runA2COcba.cmd = OA +ARMA2 +CBA +Islands(@FDF_Podagorsk;@FRAN_quesh_kibrul;@isla_duala;@panthera;@sap_everon) +planes(Camel & F-16)
_runA2CO.cmd = OA +ARMA2

These shortcuts will only work properly if you have created an OA +ARMA2 +Islands preset in the Six-updater and updated your ACE for OA. ARMA2 ACE running under OA creates errors and potential instability. Many of us have gotten through this update process alive. Just ask on here or TS for help as needed. You also must have the @planes mod folder in the same directory that your new ACE for OA resides.

I am so glad I waiting for my game in the mail and didn't use Steam, why do they have to make everything so difficult. If direct2drive had the game and people got it from there its like installing off the disk, no hassle, no worries, just install and play.
