HOW TO INSTALL LOL ADDONS FOR ARMA 2

Before doing anything else with the game, patch it up to 1.05. If you bought this as a digital download instead of in the store, then patch it through the place you downloaded it from. The easiest way to get all patched up is to come on TS(85.236.100.35:9587) & get talked through it. But, if nobody is around or you're feeling antisocial, then....

Here is a link to download an installer for the ACE mod. This is a bit complex. I’m going to walk you through this part.
Make sure you have patched your game to 1.05 before using the six updater.

First, click on the file (SIX_Updater_Suite_v0.8.1_setup.exe or current version). If given the option to run or save the .exe in the link, you should choose run. If you only have save, then run it as administrator after you save it.

Once installed it will place an icon on your desktop. When you click that, a small dos window will open, do a few things, then tell you to keep it open (listen to it). Then, a red web page will open.

Click on “CONFIGURATION” and a new page with a place for username and password will open. Leave those boxes empty and click the “synchronize” button. It will probably tell you it synchronized 80+ files but don’t worry if you don’t see such a message.

Next you’ll be looking at the original red page again; hover over “CONFIGURATION” and select “PRESETS”.

This will show you 4 choices. On the “ACE Vanilla” line click “clone” (you’ll get a message asking if you really want to do this – you do). After clicking it, it will appear that nothing happened – just refresh the webpage in your browser and you will see a 5th option now. The new one will be called “cust ACE Vanilla” – on that line select “edit”.

A green page will open and in the highlighted box should be the name “cust ACE Vanilla” (or something close) – change the cust to YOURSCREENNAME or whatever you like (something to catch your eye in a list). Below that box you will see a mod called @CBA and 4 ACE related mods. Below that is a drop down menu [select] with a button on either side of it ('create another' & 'add existing'). Using the drop down choose @FDF Podagorsk & the click "add existing" to push it onto the list. Repeat the same process for these islands as well: @FRAN_quesh_kibrul, @isla_duala, @namalsk, @panthera, & @sap_everon. When you have added them all (there will be a blank line in list - ignore it) you should have 11 items in the list.

Now, scroll down to where the green part of the page ends and near the bottom left of the screen you will see “Update” or “cancel” – obviously you want “Update”.

Now click “MAIN” – here you have the option to select your customized preset from the drop-down menu – once selected, untick “Autoskip”, & in the drop-down menu for “ACTIONS” select “Install or Update”, then click the “Execute” button.

A second dos window will open and you will see a lot of stuff happening – just let it run. This part can take an hour or more depending on your ISP & the traffic on the server you are getting the files from. At times it might appear frozen, don’t touch it – it will resume eventually.

Once it is done you will see a prompt in the second dos window saying press “enter” to close the box (you may). Don’t close that red web page just yet. Click “MAIN” again and make sure your custom preset is selected, then in the actions box, select “Create desktop shortcut” then click execute.

That just created an icon you can use to launch ARMA2 with the ACE mod and all the islands loaded. Most regular ARMA2 players have several different shortcuts on the desktop depending on which mods (if any) they want to load when starting the game.

In your ARMA2 folder you will find a folder called userconfig with a folder called ACE in it. In there are 4 *.hpp files. Right click ace_clientside_config.hpp & see if edit is available (if so select it) and if not open it with notepad. You can read what is changeable or not in there. The main thing to change is the 2nd "John Doe" to your screenname exactly as you use it in game (case sensitive). Make sure when you save it that the file remains an hpp file.

The only other things you need are the planes we use. Get both of these: F16 & Camels. In your main ARMA2 folder create a folder called @planes in that folder create a folder called addons. Put the pbo files from the 2 planes into this addons folder (there should be 4 glt***.pbo files & 4 CYBP***.pbo files =8 total pbos).

Right click the shortcut you made with the sixupdater & in the target line add ;@planes to the end of it. Launch game & use lol as a "filter" in the browser to find us.
